Average Costs
So how much will your email address actually cost you?
Our current email addresses use between 4KB and over 80MB, depending on how many emails are
received, how often they are downloaded to the users computer, or whether they manage all their
email only via our webmail tool. That means that disk space charges range from
0.4 (≈ 1.21₵) to 32 (≈ $USD 0.96) per month. More than half of our email
addresses use under 1MB of disk space - at a cost of 0.4 (≈ 1.21₵).
So what sort of bandwidth should you expect? Well, average emails are under 10KB - sure you may
sometimes receive attachments which will result in some larger emails. If you receive 10 emails
per day, then that is a total of 100KB per day, 3MB per month. We need to double this as you will
use this bandwidth when you receive your emails and also again when you download them to your
computer. So, you could expect a monthly bandwidth usage of 6MB which will cost you
0.48 (≈ 1.45₵).
Diskspace and bandwidth charges are calculated per account, so if you have 10 email addresses
which use 5MB of diskspace and 60MB of bandwidth between them, then you would be charged
2 (≈ 6.03₵) for diskspace and 4.8 (≈ $USD 0.14) for bandwidth.
When estimating your monthly cost, don't forget to add in the monthly cost of
3.5 (≈ $USD 0.11) per email address.
